Trends 2018 - 02
As we see a strong turn to the re-interpretation of classic 1960’s and 1970’s styles and furniture items, one conclusive trend is the comeback of the pouf. Repetitions in design trends are always a way of putting the known into a contemporary context. Same applies to the current pouf hype: Muuto’s style links its angular Five Pouf with an industrial, Skandinavian set up. The Apartment makes reproductions of Luigi Caccio Dominioni’s 1963 Cilindro Stool available, all dressed up in the finest new textiles and prints. And Maison et Objet’s Designer of the Year Cecilie Manz turns heads with her doughnut-shaped pouf.
It should be mentioned that we are talking poufs here: all textile uppers, no legs – basically big cushions. Not the ottoman, that would be whole different story.
But even though not fully matching this concept we will stretch a point for COR’s stool from its current Lab Series – just because we like it a lot!
